JUMPING HIGH TO PROVIDE QUALITY HOOF CARE
Since 2014
farriers are not Just horseshoers
Many have the misunderstanding that farriers are simply the guys who tack-on shoes after trimming hooves. While this may be true for some, there are many professional hoof care providers who understand the important role that hooves share with the whole horse; which includes addressing both physiological and psychological domains. Over half of hoof issues are directly associated with improper nutrition, diet, maintenance or farrier fault. A well-rounded farrier will collaborate with other equine professionals, study the individual needs of the horse, and provide the client with education in order to develop the most progressive hoof care plan.
The popular saying, 'no foot, no horse,' may never need to become a reality if appropriate treatment and prevention tactics are established by owner and farrier. So remember, when you see someone nailing on a horseshoe, there is a lot more involved with the job than meets the eye.
